Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is used to rid us of hair in unforgiving places. As young teenage girls the body produced male hormones that resulted in excessive facial hair, which was soft and fine and went virtually unnoticed. Over time the aging process causes the fine downy hair that was once present to become thick and coarse. When this occurs treatment is desired to remove the unpleasant hair follicles.
The procedure is giving to men and women for the removal of unsightly hairs on the face, chin, over the lip, arms, underarm, legs, back, chest and other various locations, this can’t be done to remove any hair around the eyes. It’s not like the hair that grows on the scalp its thick, coarse and very unattractive. If you choose a quicker solution to remove the hair, such as with a razor you will feel the stubble returning the following day.
This excessive hair growth doesn’t cause health problems. It’s mainly for cosmetic purpose to have it removed.
With the laser hair removal system a jelly like substance is apply to the area getting treated. It’s like the gel that is use to perform an ultrasound, when expecting a baby. Once the warm or cold gel is applied a laser wand type instrument with a heated light is used, the wand size varies. The laser light wand is than passed across the targeted area with a slight stinging sensation, as if you are being popped with a rubber band, nothing producing great pain. The procedure should take between thirty minutes to and hour, maybe longer depending on the extent of treatment you wish to get. Within two weeks you should expect to notice the hair falling out. You may also exfoliate the skin to help the hair follicles to fall out quicker, by lightly scrubbing it. To get desired results more than one treatment is needed, approximately six treatments will be needed. The hair will get finer and lighter until it’s completely gone.
There are other quick temporary options that can be used. The razor is one method to use, just ensure some type of shaving gel is used to prevent bumps and razor cuts. The skin is usually smooth after shaving. The only drawback is hair normally returns within a day or two of shaving it off.
Hot waxing is another option to remove hair. Heat wax, apply to desired area on the body, apply waxing strips, the strips have to be rip off very fast. Waxing the hair away last quite a bit longer than shaving, at least a couple of weeks, but it can possibly leave the skin irritated and sensitive at the site. The pain lessens as you continue with this method of treatment. Both of these quick fixes to remove hair can be rather painful if not done correctly.
There are many different ways to remove unwanted hair. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, but the one frequently used is the laser treatment that has minor discomfort. The razor is next choice, but doesn’t last long. Waxing is more effective than shaving, but their is pain associated with it.
